Junction of QRC and Wellington Street c.1880

Original photo: Queens Road attributed to Afong, c1880s - Category:Photographs of Hong Kong by Lai Afong - Wikimedia Commons

Rounded building on the left at the junction of Queen's Road Central with Wellington Street.

On the building, two signs can be seen:

Weng Tai Chan, Dealer in all kinds of Japanese goods, No. 180 (?) Queen's Road

Kwong Wing Sang, Dealer in Japanese Curious & Lacquerware (?) (possibly 182 Queen's Road)

Not yet there is the Globe Hotel, which was located at 184 Queen's Road.

The building on the left corner could be the Central Fire Station / No. 5 Police Station - Wellington & Queen's Road [????- ]. The rounded building was possibly destroyed by fire in 1902, see here

On Gwulo, we have a couple of photos showing this junction. This photo and also this one also show two-storey buildings on the right, a third storey was added later (1890s).
