I guess this is the location, as there is a (newer) building on this site with the same name.

Completion Date
Moddsey found an article on page 8 of the Hong Kong Daily Press, 1938-09-09 that describes the new building and says it will be 'completed in three months', so I've set the completion date to be approximately the start of 1939.
St Joan Court
Is this 76 Macdonnell Road? If so, I lived in St Joan Court from around late 1968 till the latter part of 1973. I believe it was the following years when residents had to start to leave in preparation for the demolition. I think I am correct that the building was owned by Lo Tak Sing; he was certainly the owner of the apartment in which I lived. During the Japanese occupation it is my understanding that it was used as accommodation for very senior officers. Among the well known personalities who lived there were Betty Church's main competitor in advertising, Alma Kelly and also a prominent American interior designer, J J Killaugh III.
re: St Joan Court
Yes, this must be the same building that you lived in. The current version of St Joan Court has the address 74-76 Macdonnell Road.
I've added an estimated demolition date of c. 1975, based on your notes and the next building on the site being finished in 1977.
