Top photo taken from Mui Wo Police Station shows Silvermine Bay flooded after Typhoon Hope in 1979. Mui Wo Police Station had, as did all the Islands Divisional stations, a typhoon signal mast. The lower picture shows the No. 10 signal being hoisted by police. The signal was very heavy and it took a big effort and plenty of men to joist it in what were pretty adverse weather conditions.
