The Lung Moon Restaurant stands at 130-136 Johnston Rd. It's just passed its 50th birthday under the current name - or 60th if you count from its previous name. Is it the oldest restaurant in Wanchai?

1948: It opened under the name 龍鳳大酒樓 ('Lung Fung' or 'Dragon & Phoenix' restaurant).

1958: It re-opened under its current name 龍門大酒樓 ('Lung Moon', or 'Dragon Gate' restaurant) on 4th Dec 1958.

Thanks to readers T, Raymondlo and Moddsey for their help with the names, photos, and dates.

According to Early Hong Kong Eateries, by Cheng Po Hung,  the Lung Fung Teahouse was established on its current site in 1948.

Raymond notes that the restaurant closed on 1st Dec, 2009.
